Online BTEC Business · Level 3 · Age 16+

The size of three International A Levels. No traditional final written exams.

Complete the two-year Pearson BTEC International Level 3 Extended Diploma in Business through applied assignments, live teaching and structured support. Instead of relying on one final exam period, you build evidence across 15 Business units.

What this means: the Extended Diploma has the same qualification size as three International A Levels. It is one BTEC qualification, not three separate A Levels. Universities make their own entry decisions, so we help you confirm acceptance for the exact course before you apply.

The key difference

A Level-sized study, assessed in a different way.

Many university routes ask for Level 3 qualifications. International A Levels usually concentrate achievement into subject examinations. The BTEC Extended Diploma covers a comparable volume of study through one substantial Business qualification.

International A Levels

Knowledge demonstrated in timed exams

  • Usually study three separate subjects
  • Learn broad syllabuses over two years
  • Write answers under timed examination conditions
  • Final grades depend heavily on exam performance
You do not “get three A Levels”.

You earn the Pearson BTEC International Level 3 Extended Diploma in Business. Pearson defines it as equivalent in size to three International A Levels: a statement about the scale and volume of the qualification. Recognition and entry grades still depend on the university and degree.

Why students choose BTEC

Show what you know over time.

If timed exams do not bring out your best, BTEC offers another serious Level 3 route. You still work hard, but you can plan, research, draft and develop evidence instead of recalling an entire syllabus in one high-pressure sitting.

01 · Learn

Understand each brief

Break the learning aims and assessment criteria into weekly goals before formal assessment begins.

02 · Build

Produce independent evidence

Research organisations, analyse information and create reports, plans, presentations or practical records.

03 · Progress

Aim beyond Pass

Move from accurate explanation to analysis, then to evidence-based evaluation and justified recommendations.

Support is structured, but grades are earned. Teaching and formative practice prepare you before assessment; formal feedback, resubmission and grading must follow Pearson and approved-centre rules. There is no unlimited rewriting until a Distinction.
